Wow... blogging really does make you smart!

It's true!  In the last post, "Why are our leaders messing up so badly?", I learnt more from reading a few comments than I could have by spending a whole day in a bookstore.
Here's a taster (from Wade's comment) -

Personally I agree with Plato, that most people are trying for something that is not "good". Capitalist society is not the answer, nor is communism as the opposite. There is, however a balance where profit is not the bottom line. Society is stumbling it's way as the current leaders are not aware of what is Good, and until then, we will bump and grind like virgins." .... Wade (The Brain of Wade)

Thank you all for some great insights there, I'm sure there's a lot of good to come out of this discussion.

Talking of community, you may have noticed the new 'Most Recent Readers' section on the left hand toolbar.  If you click on  'View Reader Community'  just below the visitor photos you can, if you wish, click on 'Join Community'.  The great thing about this is that you'll be able to see others who subscribe here and go visit their sites or use the 'community messages'.  Once it gets going it should be a great way of finding others with similar interests and discovering some great blogs (as well as publicising your own) as I've already discovered

As you may already know, I'm involved in building a web application that will allow you to form a community around common interest rather than individual blogs.  You'll be able to integrate it with your blog or site just as MyBlogLog does, but the focus will be on rich conversation as a way of sharing ideas, solving problems and getting things done.  I'll tell you more as we progress.

  • ..this blog stems from a recognition that our true nature is far more creative, loving and unlimited than we could possibly imagine... and it transforms everything... a practical, generic solution to all our problems.

These are just my lesson notes as I try to  be true to that recognition... and  learn to fly.  So it's quite possible that everything here may be wrong.

Thank you for visiting.  Email (to Nick Smith) is always welcome.
