Comfortably Numb
Following on from the same theme as the last post, Dave Pollard has just posted Comfortable Disconnection in which he describes our 'human condition' in prose far more beautifully than I ever could. I prefer to take personal responsibility for our predicament rather than blame 'culture' but nonetheless this is a great piece. Here's a taster to wet your appetite before you click through:
So I go on, still blind to all the consequences
of my actions and inactions
and to what I've lost
and long forgotten.
In this comfortable disconnection
I'm accustomed, now, to unreality."
Wonderful stuff. It reminds me very much of this classic Pink Floyd song - 'Comfortably Numb'. Enjoy.
